Firstly: Registration Process:
• Subscription is accessible only for publishing house, libraries, cultural institutions, research centers, universities, associations and international organizations. • The participation’s application is considered as a final contract and the Exhibition Committee will not accept any retreat of the participant or cancelation after 15 January 2017 the payment is non-refundable after mentioned date. • The committee does not accept direct applications from publishing houses and libraries that have less than forty (40) Titles. • Participation is restricted only for books, publications, and e-books inserted on CDs. Display and sale of audio or visual tapes are not allowed. All materials are subject of evaluation by the committee. • Determine exhibition scheme and distribution of stands is the responsibility of the Exhibition Committee only. It is authorized to distribute the stands according to the way it deems appropriate and criteria that are applied. The stands has been classifies to (3) categories, as follows: Official authorities (550) RO, Stand (9m) Publishing houses and libraries (450) RO, Stand (9m) Foreign books (450) RO, Stand (9m) • Exhibitor must insert all versions of his books (module on website). The titles must be arranged and classified by the Universal Decimal Classification or Dewey decimal classification and priced after discount by OR. • The publishing house must provide a list of the versions approved by the Publishers Association or the body that supervises the exhibitor in each country. • Exhibition Committee has the right to reject participation request of any publishing houses to participate in the exhibition without clarification and liability arising therefrom. • Exhibitor must be eligible to manage the stand and an active element in the success of the exhibition. He/she has to attend to his/her stand at least 15 minutes before and leaves after the daily close. • Exhibitor must maintain the stand after the end of the exhibition and shall bear the costs of repairing any damage occur. • In case of any misuse (rent or change the stand), the committee shall take all necessary actions.
The committee allows publishing houses and libraries to display and sell books of other publishing houses according to the following conditions: The attorneyship must be directed to the Committee of Muscat International Book Fair. It must be printed on the sample of attorneyship form on the Website. To be stamped and certified by the authority which issued the power of attorney. Maximum Agencies are (5) for Arabic section, and (7) for foreign section. A fee of (15) RO is imposed on each power of attorney (does not apply to local participations). The Committee has the right to reject attorneyship. The maximum number of attorneyship is 5.
• Books imported by Airport: The Organizing Committee does the clearance and storage of imported books through Muscat International Airport. Exhibitor shall provide the Committee a copy of the airway bill, packing lists and bill of total value of the cargo before the arrival of books to the Sultanate. • Books imported through land ports: the exhibitor should place them inside the trucks (with a fence), or containers. It shall be released at the exhibition by the competent authorities. Exhibitors should provide the Committee the number of the truck, the driver’s name, packing lists, certificate of origin and bill of the total value of the shipment within enough time before the arrival of the books to the land port. • Books shipped by sea: exhibitor should provide the Committee the original bill of loading, packing lists, certificate of origin, bill of total value of the shipment before two weeks of its arrival to the Sultanate. The committee shall clear customs procedures while the exhibitor shall bear the expenses related to customs clearance and transportation from the port to the exhibition location. • The committee of Exhibition does not take any responsibility towards the storage of books or its recharge after the exhibition. The following procedures are applied for the books arrive after the opening,: 25 RO for the clearance of each bill of lading containing (1-10) boxes. 1 RO for each additional box. 500 Bz per box shipped by sea. Exhibitor bears all financial and administrative implications as a result of failure to comply with regulations of shipping or untitled books sent to the Committee of Muscat International Book Fair or those not accompanied the of total value. • The participant should send shipping form to organizing committee. There will be no recipient to any shipment without its form. • Exhibiter bears all financial, administrative or legal consequences arise as a result of difference of the original data. • Exhibiter bears all financial, administrative or legal consequences arise as a result of above data. • A fee of (5%) on the electronic teaching methods. The cost will be estimated after by the competent authorities. • The Committee does not accept any boxes that are not directed to the exhibition, or don’t carry label of Muscat International Book Fair.
Fourth: Sales system
• Omani Rial is the exhibition’s currency. • The participants have to grant a special discount to the public (at least 25% of the main price). It must be placed on each price sticker specified in Omani Rial after discount. The Committee has the right to control prices and intervention. In case of mismatch prices, actions will be taken against offenders. • Third copies of bills must be provided. Original copy for buyer and a copy for the exhibitor, while the third copy goes to the administration of the exhibition. • No versions will be exported from exhibition hall without purchase invoice.
The management of exhibition has the right to custody books and publications without return it back regardless of the actual number in the following cases: • Unlicensed by the Department of Press and Publications at the Ministry of Information, Sultanate of Oman. Fake / not genuine. Doesn’t have attorneyship. Have not been listed on publications list. Manipulation of prices by the exhibitor. • In case of violation of the terms and regulations or any other regulations issued by the committee, the following actions will be applied: First offense, Warning. Second offense, closing the stand for a day. Third offense, closing the stand and deprives the exhibitor participation for two years either directly or through attorneyship. • The Committee may impose fees or cancel the participation in the following cases: Failure to comply with shipping system. Evacuate the stand by the exhibitor or packaging boxes before approved time. Manipulation of the books and materials prices. Displaying and selling fake books.
