			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>HE Dr. Rawia bint Saud Al Busaidi, the Minister of Higher Education will preside over the officia opening ceremony of the 17<sup>th</sup> Muscat  International Book Fair at the Oman International Exhibition Centre  on Tuesday, 28<sup>th</sup> February 2012.<br />
The opening ceremony will begin by launching the Arabic version of the Oman Traditional Crafts book and the new mobile index service.</p>

<p>HE the Minister will pass through the exhibition halls:  Al Farahidi, the main hall,   Al Otabi, Ibn Duraid and Ahmed Bin Majid.</p>
<p>It is worth mentioning that the exhibition will be open the public from the morning of Wednesday,29<sup>th</sup> Feb 2012, until the 11<sup>th</sup> March 2012. Many Omani and Arab cultured and media figures, literate and writers will be invited to enrich the cultural activities accompanying the fair’s days.<a href="http://www.mctbookfair.gov.om/en/2012/59/attachment/134" rel="attachment wp-att-63"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-63" title="134" src="http://www.mctbookfair.gov.om/en/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/134-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /></a></p>
<p>The 17<sup>th</sup> Muscat International Book Fair, which will take place at the Oman International Exhibition Centre, will start its cultural activities this year at 5pm on Thursday and Friday 1<sup>st</sup> and 2<sup>nd</sup> March, with an interactive art session dedicated for children titled “make your own book”. The session will be under the supervision of Azhar Ahmed AlHarthi, children storywriter, and the translator Ibtihal Mohamed AlHarthi.</p>
<p>Dr. Khalid bin Saleh Al Moosa of the Arab Tourism Organization will give a lecture titled “The Tourism Awareness” on Sat 3<sup>rd</sup> Mar, which will be presented by Yahya bin Amor Al Kyumi. On Sun 4<sup>th</sup> Mar, a lecture titled “The Horse or Wagon: Literature Criticism and Creativity Boost” will be given by Abdulsalam Al Masdi, a Tunisian critic. Dr. Hilal Al Hajri also will deliver another lecture titled “Modernity of Ancestors: Breach Taboo in the Omani Poem”, which will be presented by Suliman Al Mamri.</p>
<p>On Monday 5<sup>th</sup> Mar, the Oman Writers Society will launch its new publications printed this year 2012.</p>
<p>A number of poets will remark the evening of Tuesday 7<sup>th</sup> Mar: Dr. Mohamed Abdulkarim Al Shihi, Samira Al Kharousi ,Shamisa bint Abdullh Al Nomani and the Saudi poet Jasim Mohamed Al Sahih as honor guest. Bader Al Shaibani will direct the activity.</p>
<p>On Thursday evening, 8<sup>th</sup> Mar,  folk poetry popular will be delivered by: Rehab bint Harib Al Sadi, Saleh bin Khamis Al Sinaidi, Alawi bin Mohammed Baomar, and Saleh bin Said Al Raisi. Mazin bin Nasser Al Hadabi will direct the activity.</p>

<p>On the closing day of the activities, the Omani Writers Society will award the winner of the best issue competition in 2011.</p>
<p>All cultural activities start at 7 pm in the Oman International Exhibition Centre .</p>
